Here’s your comic, peeps. Sorry for the delay. =) Special art week, next week, methinks.
So, yeah, I was a little excited for TMNT. Hey, I’m a child of the 80s – I was around for half of ‘em – I love the turtles like I should. ;P And the movies? Especially Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and TMNT2: Secret of the Ooze. Those were gold. (I thought the third was okay. Argue how ninja turtles shouldn’t be samurais all you want, it still had the return of Casey Jones and “Tarazan Boy” playing over the creds… It’s at least survivable cinema for those two reasons alone. =P)
I was kinda’ hesitant about TMNT, though. The turtles’ designs… Well, hell, the people, too. Ick. The CG and action was stellar, backgrounds were gorgeous. Story… Well, who doesn’t love some good ol’ Leo/Raph angst? (Mikey and Don? Kinda’ under-used. And the mystical/dimensional/immortal/hub-bub was really weak.) When I’d heard CGi Turtles, though, I envisioned something less… Saturday morning cartoony. I really dig it for being stylistically different – and seeing the Turtles and Casey and April (all ninja-ed up) in action does make the characters grow on ya’. A bit. A tiny bit. A very tiny bit. But it really… Ugh. Not a fan.
Anyhow, I hop on a plane up to Virginia, tomorrow! Again, art week next week, followed by regular updates again starting the first week of April! (Tristan will be back – with “surprises” for Colin! ;D)
Hey dudes and dudettes - today's Sticky Floors will be posted later tonight - closer to Sunday morning, probably - as I'm in the process of getting packed up and headed to Virginia on Monday. ^^ (Still gotta' finish coloring the comic - it'll be up by tomorrow, promise. ;D) Sorry for the slight lateness, folks! Have a groovy weekend!
‘Pologies for the lack of news postage these last few updates, peeps – I’ve been keeping very busy of late with last-minute stuff for Anime Matsuri - not to mention prepping for TWO conventions this April: Anime Boston (Boston, MA, April 20-22 – Dave and I both will be there, in the Artist Alley) and Anime Matsuri (Houston, TX, April 27-29 – I’ll be solo-ing this one on the Snafu front, but Ian will be there too! He’s just as cuddly as Dave.) Prep for these cons also involves some snazzy new stuff that’ll get revealed the first week of April, too!
I’ll also be headed back up to Virginia this Monday, where I’ll pretty much be for the next month-and-two-weeks. =D …Aside from a weekend in Boston and a weekend in Houston, anyhow. ;P Hope to see you guys at a show!
Also, Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable?” Da-a-ammit. I’d finally gotten that out of my head (Despite having put it on my play-list… Hey, fuck you, it’s a catchy tune. ;P)… And now it’s there. Again. To the left. To the left. (Hey, it’s that or Gwen Stefani’s “The Sweet Escape.” Also damned catchy.)
