…But the breakfasts? Holy balls – that stuff is like insta-diarrhea!
‘Pologies for the lack of news postage last week. I’ve been insomniac-ing it for awhile – typical days ranging from over twenty-four hours to under six, sleeping whenever it is that I get sleepy. It’s hardly healthy, but after awhile you get used to it. It’s just transitioning into that “schedule” is a bit of a system-shocker. Suddenly you wake up and say to yourself “Damn! I slept through a whole weekend?!”
Just a reminder, since it’s just a little over two weeks away now: I’ll be at Oni-Con in Houston, TX, October 20 – 22, attending space in the Artist Alley. So if you’re in the area that weekend, be sure to drop by!
And speaking of con sort o’ stuff: buddies o’ mine Steven Heinrich (A-Kon’s Artist Alley director), Hightower the “Chibi Man” (Don’t let that nickname fool you – he’s “really big in real life.” ;P), and Juno of Star Cross’d Destiny have been putting together a ”Con Artist Community” (con as in convention, by the by).
It’s just starting out, but for those of you interested in the national convention circuit - working said circuit, specifically as a self-representing artist – it should be a very promising and unique resource. Meet-and-greet with other artists, get tips and tricks from veterans of the circuit, reviews of conventions and get the real inside scoop you won’t find on any con’s message-board: How is that con for artists?
As said, it’s just starting out. But it’s got veterans all ready on board that travel and do conventions full-time, and if you’re interested in this sorta’ stuff I definitely recommend it. Never seen anything quite like it online before.
PS: Much love for the linkage, ScribbleKid.
Another PS: To further pimp out the Oni-Con, here’s there clickable banner. =0 You know you wanna’ go, ya’ know. Yoshitaka Amano will be there too. You kids love Final Fantasy, don’t you kids? ;)
